ESO relies strongly on the support of its Friends and Partners. The Friends provide financial but also (importantly) moral support for the work of the orchestra. Partners are trusted organisations with which ESO believes it can work to derive mutual benefit from the arrangment. A prime example of partnership working is with Elysia UK, which houses the ESO head office. Apart from providing musicians and groups to play at functions ESO also provides Elysia with the means to satisfy sonme of its wider and deeper-rooted objectives. Another example of partner is the Elgar School of Music in Worcester, which provides ESO with a city-centre home within striking distance of regular venues such as Worcester Cathedral and Huntingdon Hall. In return, the school benefits from access to the ESO music library for its orchestral ensembles, direct access to ESO orchestra courses for its pupils and access to regular members of the orchestra for masterclasses and workshops. In the longer term, associations such as these will provide local people with greater opportunities to access live music, as performer or audience member, than those that they currently enjoy - in libne with the driving idea behind ESO.
